Four Wastewater Treatment Methods for Livestock And Poultry Breeding
Nowadays, for livestock and poultry wastewater treatment methods, there are many advanced technical methods at home and abroad, which can be roughly divided into physical treatment technology, chemical treatment technology, biological treatment technology and natural ecological treatment technology, as well as a series of technological processes.
Physical and chemical processing technology
The physical and chemical treatment technology of livestock and poultry breeding wastewater can be roughly divided into adsorption method, flocculation sedimentation method and electrochemical method.
- Media adsorption method uses solid adsorption materials with developed pore structure to adsorb and retain some pollutants in livestock and poultry wastewater.
- Frozen precipitation method refers to the adsorption cross-adsorption effect of the flocculant polymer. The particles are suspended in residual aggregates and precipitated into larger particles. It has the advantages of fast processing speed, good deposition effect and easy processing.
- Electrochemical method is an electrochemical method to remove biodegradable pollutants. It has a good removal effect on heavy metals, but the removal rate of organic matter is low.
Biological treatment technology
According to the types of microorganisms, the biological treatment technology of animal and poultry wastewater can be roughly divided into aerobic biological treatment method, anaerobic biological method and aerobic anaerobic mixed treatment.
- The aerobic biological methods commonly used in livestock and poultry wastewater treatment are mainly SBR, SBBR, biological turntable, biological filtration, MBBR, MBR and A/O methods. Using SPL to treat livestock and poultry excrement in farms can better remove ammonia nitrogen, organic matter, and phosphorus in livestock and poultry, and convert phosphorus into soluble phosphorus and chemical precipitates.
- Anaerobic biological treatment is also often used in livestock breeding and poultry breeding treatment. Commonly used technologies include ABR, UASB, fully mixed anaerobic reactor and microbial fuel cell (MFC).
Aerobic and anaerobic mixed treatment methods are also often used in the treatment of livestock and poultry wastewater. The combined treatment effect of the two is better than the single method.
Natural ecological technology
Use water, soil and organisms to remove pollutants in wastewater through various physical, chemical and biological effects. Natural ecological treatment technology includes wetland construction and oxidation pond technology.
- Constructed wetland treatment technology uses a soil-aquatic plant-complex microbial ecosystem to remove pollutants and remove water and fertilizer through physical, chemical and biological processes.
- Oxidation cell treatment technology The principle of using oxidation ponds to treat wastewater is similar to the self-cleaning process of water. It mainly uses the action of microorganisms in the pond to remove organic matter in wastewater.
Combination of various processing technologies
In the current situation of shortage of land resources, due to the serious pollution of livestock and poultry wastewater, a single sewage treatment technology has an unsatisfactory effect on the treatment of livestock and poultry wastewater. Two or more treatment methods are often used to enhance the treatment effect.
Large-scale livestock and poultry industry has high costs and low profits, and it is difficult to bear the high cost of livestock and poultry wastewater treatment processes. Therefore, when selecting wastewater treatment processes, priority should be given to processes with lower construction costs, lower operating and management costs, and good treatment effects.
